NVBS celebrates its
75th anniversary! Dutch Railway Enthousiast club NVBS - founded in 1931 - is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2006. A small group of devoted members has organised some festivities, that will take place during the spring and summer months. With these celebrations, the NVBS looks back at 1931. Trains and trolleys that were modern in 1931, and have become valuable museumpieces in the past 75 years, will be the stars of the festivities. All major events of the celebration have taken place. Although plans to organise an exhibition had to be canceled a mini-exhibition at the N.S.M. (Netherlands Railways Museum) shows a number of mementos of the past of the NVBS. After lengthy considerations the jury has decided on the outcome of the photocontest. Click here to see the winning pictures and the names of their makers. The train tour in and around Apeldoorn on October 14 and 15 has been a great success. A large number of pictures are to be seen in the picture gallery of the event. The trolley parade in Amsterdam has been held on Sunday, June 11. A photographic impression can be seen here.
The symposium on rail transportation has been held on May 13.
